About a year ago I started fantasizing that I would become an international actor. I have an EU passport, I have acted in Italian and Japanese, and I have no roots to speak of and enjoy living out of a suitcase. I saw myself travelling the globe doing TV work here and film work there. Acting and seeing the world - what could be better?
Last week I completed work as a series regular on a TV comedy pilot. Although it was shot in New York, the production company was from Paris, France. The make-up department was from Japan. As I sat on set waiting for the lights and cameras to get set up, French phrases filled the air. Between takes I spoke Japanese with the make up folks. There I was - on an international set. What a fortunate turn of events. I am so grateful.
